ADDITIONAL
INFORMATION: Match.com's Every Single Vote Counts is a voter awareness
initiative designed to mobilize the nation's singles.
Almost 39 million American singles did not vote in the
2000 presidential election. Very rarely segmented or
recognized within the context of political campaigns, it's
no wonder that singles have felt disengaged from the
process. Well, no longer.
Match.com and Gallup surveyed the attitudes of American
singles toward timely political and social issues including
marriage, the economy and the war in Iraq. Match.com,
which has more than 12 million socially and potentially
politically active members, will use the survey date to
generate awareness among singles of the importance of
playing a role in the democratic process and to shed some
light for the rest of the country on singles' political
views.
